4 Things To Know: Ferguson Shootings, Bachmann's 'Sharknado 3' Cameo & More

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- These are the four stories you need to be aware of for Thursday, March 12.

2 Police Officers Shot In Ferguson, Missouri

Two police officers were shot in Ferguson, Missouri overnight. It happened during a demonstration outside police headquarters.

One officer was shot in the face, the other in the shoulder. The officers were conscious, but their injuries are described as very serious.

The crowd had gathered following the resignation of the city's police chief.

At this point, police do not know who pulled the trigger.

Smiley Golden Retriever

This story will leave you "smiley."

A Golden Retriever with that name is becoming a viral sensation.

Smiley was adopted from a Canadian puppy mill where he was born without eyes.

His owner pairs him with a deaf Great Dane and the two go to hospitals nursing homes and schools to cheer people up.

"Eavesdropping" Barbie

It's called Hello Barbie, but critics want it renamed to eavesdropping Barbie.

The doll uses WI-FI speech recognition and an embedded microphone to record children's speech.

Mattel says the technology allows the doll to chat with kids, but the campaign for commercial-free childhood says the doll sends the child's remarks over the web.

That could leave kids vulnerable to stealth advertising!

Michele Bachmann To Make "Sharknado 3" Cameo

Michele Bachmann is no longer a member of Congress, but she plays one in the latest version of Sharknado.

In the video above, there's a picture of former Minnesota congresswoman Bachmann filming outside the White House Wednesday. The photo was shot by a Huffington Post reporter.

This is the third installment of the "Sharknado" series.

Bachmann says she agreed to do the movie saying, "it was just fun."
