3rd Person Arrested In Winona Man's Shooting Death

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) -- Police say a third suspect has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a Winona man earlier this month.

Police found 31-year-old Adam Fort in his Winona apartment just after 1 p.m. Oct. 18 with a gunshot wound to the torso. Medical personnel provided care at the scene, but Fort was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Investigators believe robbery motivated the shooting.

Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said 18-year-old Reginald Alexander Burnett was arrested Saturday in Rockdale, Illinois. Williams said investigators believe Burnett was in the Winona apartment when Adam Fort was shot.

He's being held in the Will County Jail pending an extradition hearing, and faces possible charges of aiding and abetting second-degree murder, first-degree aggravated robbery and two counts of second-degree assault.

Two others were arrested in Wisconsin last week -- 23-year-old Lonnie Lavonte Keymone Hudson and an 18-year-old woman who police believe drove the getaway vehicle. Williams said a handgun was recovered at an apartment in La Crosse, Wisconsin that was possibly used in the shooting.

Williams said authorities are still investigating the possibility that a fourth person was also involved in the crime.
