3 injured in shooting outside night club in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS — Three people were injured in an overnight shooting in south Minneapolis, according to police.

The shooting happened on the 2900 block of Lyndale Avenue South near Casablanca Lounge and Restaurant.

Two women in their 20s were shot and are expected to survive, while a man in his 20s suffered a potentially life-threatening gunshot wound, police said. They were found in the parking lot behind the restaurant.

Few other details about the shooting were immediately available.

This isn't the first shooting in the popular nightlife area near Lyndale Avenue and Lake Street. Back in September, Droo Gibbs was shot in the leg while walking along Lyndale near Lake Street on a Friday night.

The city's shots fired records online show just this one shooting in the area over the last month and at lest seven reports of shots fired near that intersection in 2023.

MPD is investigating.
