3 Adults, 5 Children Displaced In North Minneapolis House Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities said there were no injuries but eight people have been displaced after a north Minneapolis home was heavily damaged in a fire Sunday afternoon.

The Minneapolis Fire Department received a report of a house fire at about 4:20 p.m. on the 1500 block of Morgan Avenue North. When firefighters arrived, it appeared everyone inside the home had made it out safely.

Fire officials said the blaze was in the back of the two-story home, and firefighters had to evacuate the residence due to heavy fire in the attic.

Authorities said nobody was hurt in the fire, but the home suffered extensive damage. Two families that included three adults and five children have been displaced by the fire. The American Red Cross was called into provide assistance.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
