2nd Body In 2 Days Recovered From Mississippi River In Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man's body was recovered from the Mississippi River – just one day after a woman's body was recovered from the same river.

According to the sheriff's office, law enforcement responded at 6:37 a.m. to a call of a possible body in the water near the Xcel Energy power plant, located on 3100 Marshall St NE. There, deputies recovered the body of a man.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office will be releasing the name of the man and the cause of death.

On Monday morning, the sheriff's office recovered the body of a woman south of the Franklin Avenue Bridge. That death is also being investigated.
