28 Years In Prison For Shooting Outside Target Field
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A Brooklyn Center man has been sentenced to more than 28 years in prison for a shooting outside Target Field last year.
Twenty-eight-year-old James Davis was earlier found guilty of two counts of attempted murder for wounding two gang rivals outside the ballpark last April. Kibbie Walker and Cortez Blakemore were shot after leaving their cleaning jobs at Target Field in Minneapolis.
Officials say Davis was a member of the 1-9s gang, while Walker and Blakemore are members of the Taliban gang. Davis allegedly was acting out of retaliation for a video that mocked the shooting death of 1-9s' leader.
Hennepin County District Court Judge Fred Karasov sentenced Davis Thursday.
