2 Volunteer Groups Continue Searching For Barway Collins

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's been two and a half weeks since 10-year-old Barway Collins of Crystal went missing.

Several searches along the Mississippi River are underway now to find anything that could help find him.

Earlier today groups led by others who have had missing loved ones in Minnesota did their best to look further south and work their way toward the area where police say the boy's father, Pierre Collins, may have been- the North Mississippi Regional Park.

Police say they're considering Pierre Collins a suspect in the case, though he denies any involvement.

The boy was last seen on a March 18 surveillance video, opening the door to the Cedarwood Apartments in Crystal, but never going inside.

Search volunteers say they know what it's like to have a missing loved one and just do what they can to help.

"Just keep an eye out, get the word out. That's our mission -- bring Barway home," Steven Matula, a search volunteer, said. "That's what we will do today. Try and find some answers."

The area that's being searched is now led by other advocates for missing persons groups, and they say thr area farther north hasn't yet been searched as much as other areas.
