2 Mpls. Officers Injured In Broadside Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials say two Minneapolis police officers are recovering following a crash Sunday afternoon in which a squad car was broadsided.

Police say the crash happened around 2:20 p.m. at the intersection of Washington and Portland avenues. The officers were responding to an emergency call when their squad was hit.

Both officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and an ambulance brought them to an area hospital.

Police say the driver involved was chemically tested and released.

No names have been released.
