2 Minn. Brothers Killed In Montevideo Plane Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two Minnesota brothers are dead after their two-seater aircraft crashed near the Montevideo Airport, according to the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office.
On Sunday at 3:47 p.m., the Chippewa County dispatch received a 911 reporting an airplane crash¬on the northern edge of Montevideo.
The sheriff's office determined that the crash occurred in a soy bean field northwest of 4015 50ath Ave. SW in Montevideo. The small aircraft had just taken off from the airport when the plane appeared to make a left turn when its right wing went straight up, like it had caught a gust of wind. The plane then crashed.
The two brothers were killed in the crash. They have been identified as Mark Orville Schultz of Sleepy Eye, Minn. and Steven John Schultz of Brooklyn Center.
