2 Injured In North Minneapolis Car Accident

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two people were injured in a car accident in north Minneapolis early Tuesday morning.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, around 2:55 a.m. officers received multiple calls of a car crash on Lyndale Avenue North near 25th Avenue.

Upon arrival, police found two cars had side-swiped each other.

Officers said that the car traveling southbound was speeding and rolled upon impact with the other car. It was found in the middle of the 2400 block of Lyndale.

The driver of the southbound car suffered serious injuries and the driver of the northbound car suffered non-life threatening injuries. Both were taken to North Memorial Hospital.

Lyndale Avenue North has been closed in both directions. Police said it should be open around 7 a.m.

No one else was hurt in the crash. The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
