2 Injured In Le Sueur County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two people were injured after a head-on crash in Le Sueur County early Sunday morning.

According to the Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office, officials received a call around 1:53 a.m. of a two-car accident with injuries on North Shore Drive in Washington Township.

Upon arrival, police saw two vehicles in the ditch, both were extensively damaged.

Police said it appeared as though this was a head-on incident.

Each car had only one occupant.

Forty-four-year-old Jody Volk, of Madison Lake, suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Eighteen-year-old Madeline Maruska, of Madison Lake, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Mayo Mankato.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
