2 Dead In Northern Minnesota Mobile Home Fire

DEER RIVER, Minn. (AP) — Authorities in northern Minnesota say a man and a woman are dead after a mobile home fire in rural Deer River.

Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch says the fire was reported to his office at 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Officers and firefighters arrived to find the mobile home engulfed in flames. A woman and two teenage girls were able to escape and were taken to the Deer River hospital with minor injuries.

Burch says the bodies of a man and a woman were found inside the home.

Autopsies are scheduled with the Ramsey County medical examiner's office. Names of the victims have not been released.

The State Fire Marshal's office and the Cass County sheriff's office are investigating.
