2 Dead, 1 Injured In Fiery Winona County Crash

WINONA, Minn. (AP) — Two people have died and a third person has been injured in a fiery crash on an icy highway in Winona County.

The State Patrol says the crash happened about 6 a.m. Monday on Highway 61 about 10 miles south of Winona. The patrol says a motorist lost control of her car on an icy curve, crossed the median and hit a Ford Explorer. The SUV caught fire, trapping the driver who died at the scene.

One woman in the car also died on the scene. The other was taken to Winona Health.
