2 Brainerd Men Arrested In Double Shooting

BRAINERD, Minn. (AP/WCCO) — Brainerd police have arrested two suspects in connection with a double shooting at an apartment building that has left a man dead.

Tyler Allan Cronquist, 23, and 26-year-old Nathan David Becker, both of Brainerd, were arrested several hours after the Sunday evening shooting. Police issued a warning to the public as they continued to search for the men following the incident.

A five-hour manhunt tracked down Becker outside a gas station. Cronquist turned himself in about an hour later.

Brainerd Police Chief Corky McQuiston says 31-year-old Joseph Kroll of Brainerd died from a gunshot wound to his head.

The chief said the woman, 31-year-old Chelsey Crawford of Brainerd, remains in stable condition at a Twin Cities hospital after surgery. She also apparently was shot in the head.

McQuiston says police have not determined a motive for the shooting. Both suspects remain in jail pending formal charges.
