2 Arrested In St. Cloud Burglary, Assault

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two people have been arrested after a man was robbed and assaulted in his home in St. Cloud on Saturday, according to authorities.

Police say Johnny Emil Johnson, 31, of Brooklyn Park, and Ashley Anne Gilmore, 30, of Duluth, were arrested Sunday in connection to the burglary on the 1400 block of 10th Avenue North in St. Cloud.

Officers say the suspects forced their way into the home, stole a number of items from a 33-year-old man and assaulted a 58-year-old man inside the residence.

Investigators were able to track down the suspects near the Grandstay Hotel on the 200 block of Sixth Avenue South, where they were both arrested.

A search was conducted on the suspect's vehicle and inside a room at the hotel.

Both Johnson and Gilmore are being held at the Stearns County Jail on possible charges of first-degree burglary, aggravated robbery and second-degree assault.
