2 Armed Robberies Reported Near 'U' Campus Overnight

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police are investigating a pair of armed robberies that happened near the University of Minnesota overnight.

Police say the two incidents happened between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 a.m. Thursday, and in both cases the victim reported being approached by two people.

One incident happened at the intersection of 8th Street and 14th Avenue Southeast, and the other happened near the Bridges Apartments on the 900 block of University Avenue Southeast, right along Interstate 35W.

In both cases, the suspects were described as black men in their early 20s, but in the incident near University Avenue, both were said to be 6 feet, 2 inches in height.

In the other incident, one was reportedly 6 feet and the other roughly 5 feet, 8 inches tall.
