1st Court Appearance For Woman Accused In Uptown Hit-And-Run

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 37-year-old woman will be appearing in court Monday on charges she struck a man with her car earlier this month.

Angela Jackson, of Minneapolis, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder.

According to the complaint, she struck 39-year-old Tarrince Emmanuel Winbush at the intersection of Lyndale Avenue and 26th Street South in the Uptown area, not far from the Bulldog.

The complaint says that Jackson was one of several people at the Bulldog. Prosecutors say that Jackson and others got into an argument and were asked to leave.

Investigators said she first struck another vehicle and then ran Winbush down with her car. The complaint says that Jackson then took the car to hide it in a garage, and removed the license plates.

Winbush is still listed in critical condition, according to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office, and it is not known whether he'll survive.

Jackson was scheduled to appear at 1:30 p.m. in the courtroom at the Hennepin County Jail. Prosecutors said they want bail to be set at $1 million.
