18-Year-Old Killed In Shakopee Trailer Park Shooting Identified

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The 18-year-old man killed in a Shakopee trailer park shooting has been identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.

According to Shakopee police, the shooting happened just before 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8 at the Valley Haven mobile home park on 1st Avenue East. When they arrived, officers discovered an 18-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Friday, Oct. 16, the examiner's office identified the victim as Christopher Alvarez and said he died of a gunshot wound to the chest by homicide.

Omar Gutierrez, 21, and Devin Lane, 19, were arrested in the investigation, according to Shakopee Police. Authorities didn't say if the two men have been charged with a crime.

Police have not said what led to the shooting.
