14-Year-Old Shot In Neck By Father In Critical Condition

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A 14-year-old Aitkin, Minnesota, boy is in critical condition after being shot in the neck by his father Sunday evening.

His father was handling his .40 caliber Sig Sauer pistol when it fired. Police believe it was an accident but continue to investigate.

The Aitkin County Sheriff's Office responded shortly before 10 p.m. on Sunday.

The boy was taken first to Riverwood Health Care Center in Aitkin and then, by helicopter, to Hennepin County Medical Center.
