15 Train Cars Derail In St. Paul

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Crews with the Canadian Pacific Railway are cleaning up after a train derailed in St. Paul Friday morning.

According to Canadian Pacific, 15 train cars derailed at its railyard at around 7:30 a.m. in the area of Lower Afton Road and U.S. 61 in St. Paul.

There were no injuries and there are no public safety issues involved.

Canadian Pacific says its emergency response team has been dispatched, is assessing the situation and is working to restore all rail operations.

Trains can still pass the derailment on an adjacent track.
