1 Killed In Maple Lake Township Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Wright County Sheriff's Office says one person has been killed in a crash Monday morning.

According to Sheriff Joe Hagerty, on Monday at 5:05 a.m. the Wright County Communications Center received a report of a car on fire near 2045 66th St. NW in Maple Lake Township.

When emergency responders arrived, it was determined that a vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree and the engine compartment was on fire.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Cole Joseph Jenkins of Buffalo, was found outside the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
