2 killed, 2 kids severely injured in wrong way collision on I-94 in Wisconsin
UPDATE (July 11, 2023): The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office announced another victim in this crash has died. What follows is a revised version of the original story.
MENOMONIE, Wis. -- Two people are dead and two children are severely injured after a wrong-way crash last month on Interstate 94 in western Wisconsin.
On June 11, at 12:08 a.m., numerous law enforcement agencies responded to a car accident on I-94 at mile marker 40 in Dunn County.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, the initial investigation showed that a driver in a Toyota Corolla struck a Jeep Compass head-on while driving eastbound in the westbound lanes.
The 33-year-old driver of the Corolla – Benjamin Paul Wilfer, of Eau Claire – died on impact.
A passenger in the Jeep – 27-year-old Ceirra Divessa Ellis, of Golden Valley, Minn. – died from her injuries on July 2.
According to the state patrol, the driver of the Jeep was hurt but will survive. The two other passengers -- a 6-year-old and an 8-year-old -- suffered life-threatening injuries. Their current conditions are unknown.
