1 In 3 Have Had An Office Romance, Survey Says

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- What do President Obama, Bill Gates and Brad Pitt have in common? They all met their significant others at work.

A new survey by CareerBuilder says that more than one-third of workers have had an office romance, and 37 percent of those relationships ended up in marriage.

However, 5 percent say they left a job because their office romance went wrong.

Some say that romance in the workplace also opens the door to a number of pitfalls, especially relationships involving managers and bosses. A few years ago, then-Best Buy CEO Brian Dunn stepped down amid investigation that he was having a relationship with a female employee and did not alert the audit committee.

CareerBuilder says one-quarter of office romances involve a superior.
