1 Dead After Shooting In North Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A man is dead after a shooting on Minneapolis' north side Friday night.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation on the 2900 block of Morgan Avenue North just before midnight.

At the scene, police said they found an adult male who had been shot on the sidewalk. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

"The investigators and the officers are still canvasing," said Corey Schmidt of the Minneapolis Police Department, "to see if anyone recorded anything, if there's any surveillance cameras in the area, or if by talking with someone, a neighbor heard something and learned something. So they'll be interviewing people and canvasing in the days to come."

Police also said they received reports that several vehicles left the area after the ShotSpotter activation.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Minneapolis police.
