1 Dead, 3 Injured In St. Croix County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person is dead and three others are injured following a three-vehicle crash near Baldwin, Wis. Monday.

According to WisDOT, just before 9 a.m. 65-year-old Cheryl L. Gromacki was traveling eastbound on Interstate 94 when she drove through the median. Gromacki struck a westbound Toyota Prius, driven by 55-year-old Lori K. Hoekstra, and a westbound Ford Fusion, driven by 66-year-old Ronald J. Rasmussen.

Both Gromacki and Hoekstra were then hit by a semi-tractor trailer, driven by 41-year-old Jason W. Glover.

During the crash, Gromacki was ejected from her vehicle. Hoekstra and her passenger, 59-year-old Sheryle L. Schnegelberger, became trapped in their car and needed to be extracted by rescue teams.

Gromacki was transported to Regions Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Hoekstra and Schnegelberger were also taken to Regions Hospital with serious injuries.

Rasmussen suffered non-life threatening injuries. Glover was not harmed.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
