MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officers in Hugo arrested a man after an hours-long standoff, according to police.

Michael James Hardy, 43, was arrested on two active warrants. The first was for federal probation violation and the second was for first-degree controlled substance with a weapon.

According to police, officers were searching for Hardy for roughly three weeks. They received information that he was inside a home in the 15000 block of Twin Pine Mobile Home Park in Hugo.

Upon arrival, officers were able to make contact with the Hardy, negotiate and resolve the issue peacefully.

Hardy came out of the home with his hands up and surrendered peacefully.

Police said a woman and a child were also in the home, but it was not a hostage situation. However, the relationship between the parties is unclear.
