If you thought the snow was a bit early for the Twin Cities, you were right
It turns out that Friday morning's snow was one of the earliest starts to a Twin Cities' snowfall season on record.

Metro residents express surprise, shock, joy at sight of first snow
RICHFIELD -- Minnesotans likely had mixed emotions when they woke up Friday morning to fresh snow.
Some parts of the state got an inch or more, making for interesting walks and commutes.
"We are trying to look for animals that are camouflaged. And we are learning about camouflage today," said 5-year-old, Liam.
These kindergartners from a Richfield STEM school likely didn't plan to have the camouflage they were looking for, covered by snow. The flakes mixed in with the fall leaves- making for a picturesque morning and a confusing one.
"Unexpected when we were walking to the bus stop and there was snow on the ground. We had to go back inside and get our boots on," said Andy Ottum, Richfield.
"My 7-year-old, his name is Odin, he thinks it's Christmas time now he says. Because there's snow on the ground," said Elizabeth Yellow, Minneapolis.
Funny how this weather makes us skip past a couple holidays. During a work week that started with 80 degrees and sun, finishing with cold and snow may be the most Minnesota thing of all.
"I was kind of shocked to be honest with you. My kids loved it. They said it was their favorite holiday of the year, or favorite time of the year with the snow. So that was my 6-year-old's first reaction," said Jonathan Wade, Richfield.
And maybe Mother Nature created a new season -- however short it might be.
"I've lived here long enough that nothing really surprises me anymore but I wasn't expecting it to stick to the ground like it did," said Connor Maloney.
Connor is the maintenance man at Wood Lake Nature Center. He takes care of the trails and buildings.
For a minute, he thought he was going to have to get the shovels and fire up the snowblowers. By lunchtime, he realized he was in the clear.
"My wife's parents were here from California and they were in last week and they got to experience the beauty of the Minnesota fall. I kind of wish they were here to see the transition. And how drastic the changes can be," said Connor.
