Zimmerman: A Person In His Circumstances Can't Feel Guilty

ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) — In a new video released by his lawyer, George Zimmerman says a person in his circumstances can't feel guilty over surviving a confrontation like the one he had with Trayvon Martin.

Zimmerman fatally shot 17-year-old Martin  three years ago.

Zimmerman said in the video made public Monday that he would feel guilty only if he thought he could have done something differently that would have saved both their lives.

Zimmerman was acquitted of criminal charges.

Zimmerman said he was speaking publicly now that an investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice is over.

Last month, the Justice Department decided not to prosecute Zimmerman for a hate crime, concluding there was not enough evidence to establish that Zimmerman willfully deprived Martin of his civil rights.
