S.Fla. Writers Remember García Márquez In Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) —  Writers and journalists throughout South Florida are remembering novelist  Gabriel García Márquez in Miami

A group of writers are scheduled to gather Thursday at Carlos Albizu University for a panel to discuss Garcia Marquez's work.

Marquez died at his Mexico City home on April 17. He was 87.

Tributes have been taking place around Latin America in Garcia Marquez's honor. In Colombia, a musical tribute was held in Bogota and a $100,000 literary prize announced in his name. In Cuba, the Havana Film Festival will be dedicated in Garcia Marquez's honor.
