MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Hundreds of women took to social media worried about what will happen to birth control under President-elect Donald Trump.

Posts on Facebook and Twitter warned women to get intrauterine devices or, IUDs, that would reportedly last through his presidency since their access to free birth control might dwindle once Trump becomes president next year.

Trump, throughout his campaign, said he plans to repeal the Affordable Care Act, or 'Obamacare', during his presidency. Under 'Obamacare,' health insurers need to provide coverage for all FDA-approved birth control with no copayment. If Trump repeals that, then free birth control is not guaranteed under his term.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said a day after the election, that repealing 'Obamacare' is high on the list. However, neither Trump nor Congress has laid out a detailed plan on what would replace it.

Trump has said he is not in favor of requiring a prescription to buy birth control. Despite that, there is growing concern that access to free birth control will be trumped under the Trump administration.
