Police: Woman Stabbed Multiple Times At Biscayne Boulevard Motel, Suspect In Custody

MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Miami Police say a woman in her 50's was rushed to the hospital after a vicious stabbing at a Biscayne Boulevard motel.

Police spokeswoman, Officer Kenia Fallat told CBS4's Peter D'Oench that the victim and the accused attacker lived together at the Seven Seas Motel at 5940 Biscayne Boulevard.

One unidentified motel guest said the couple lived in room number 107 and she also said the victim had been stabbed a number of times in the back. It's not known what prompted this incident but that resident said they had been heard fighting.

Another motel guest, Ericka Nixon, told CBS4's Peter D'Oench that she and her little girl had just moved in to the motel where she pays $62 a night to stay in the motel.

"I just feel honestly that this is dramatic," she said. "They need to stop the violence. They need to. I just feel so bad for her and I hope she gets better and everything and I hope the guy is arrested. I don't mean to say anything like this but this is crazy."

Police say the accused attacker was arrested and the victim was undergoing surgery Thursday afternoon

"I just came here today," said Nixon. "This makes me feel uneasy. I was watching out my window and I saw a lot of police cars and I was wondering what was going on."

"I didn't want to come out," she said. "This is not my type of problems and I wanted to stay away."

"I just hope everything will go smoothly and I know the manager is kind of shaken up because you know this is not good for his business," she said.

D'Oench tried to speak with the manager but he declined to comment and said, "Help me out. Go outside the property. I am going to lock the gate."

So far there is no word on charges and the accused attacker and his victim have not been identified.

The Seven Seas motel has been in the news before.

Initial episodes of "Dexter," the Showtime series about a Miami hit man who targets guilty people, were filmed there in 2006 before the series moved filming to Los Angeles. The show ended its run in 2013.
