Woman Shot In Forehead During Armed Robbery

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A woman was shot in the forehead and a grandmother nearly hit with a bullet during an armed robbery.

Miami-Dade police said the robbery took place at 10371 SW 152nd Street March 19 just before 12:30 a.m.

According to detectives, the victim, Takeisha Forbes, 26, arrived home to a person inside her home.

The victim got into a struggle with the subject and called out for her grandmother who was inside her home, Miami-Dade police said.

The grandmother said she could see Forbes in the front yard struggling with the subject and the person took Forbes' purse.

As the subject ran, he fired shots and hit Forbes in the forehead, according to police.

Neighbors heard the shots and told police a car fled the property.

Police said Forbes was transported to Kendall Regional Medical Center, but has since been released to recover at home.
