Woman Hospitalized After Personal Watercrafts Crash Near Crandon Beach

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A woman has been hospitalized after personal watercrafts collided near Crandon Beach Monday evening.

Miami Fire Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said they received a call at around 7:30 p.m. of an accident involving possibly two to three watercrafts along the Rickenbacker Causeway.

Carroll said a Miami-Dade police officer was the first to arrive on the scene and helped bring an injured 21-year-old woman ashore.

"Her condition is stable, but we are not exactly sure what type of internal injuries she sustained," Carroll explained. "We are not exactly sure how the accident occurred, but she was transported to Ryder Trauma Center."

He went on to say she is conscious, but clearly rattled.

As for the other people involved in the accident, there were no other injuries reported.

Authorities will continue to investigate what caused the crash.
