PLANTATION (CBSMiami) --  Plantation Police are looking for a driver who ran over a woman early Wednesday morning after she had already been hit by another car.

Just after 6 a.m., police say, the woman was crossing Pine Island Road at the 700 block.

She was crossing against the light, not at the crosswalk, when one car clipped her, police said. That driver stopped to help her.

Moments later, another car drove by and hit her while she was lying on the road. That second driver did not stop.

Officers say the second driver was in a tan or beige Ford SUV that may have front end damage.

The woman has since been taken to a Broward General Medical Center where she underwent surgery. At last check, she was in critical condition.

The first driver will not face charges but the second driver will.

Anyone with information is urged to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at (954) 493 -TIPS.
