FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- A woman facing charges made a run for it, out of a Broward courtroom, Thursday morning.

Broward Sheriff's deputies said Dayanira Salazar was in front of Judge Michael Robinson for a grand theft charge.

When the bailiff was going to take her into custody, she bolted from the courtroom

Deputies said Salazar dashed out of the courtroom, out of the courthouse, making her way to a nearby bridge as a female deputy chased after her.

The deputy who chased after her suffered scratches on her knees and was also being checked out.
