Woman, Dog Found Dead In Weston Lake

WESTON (CBSMiami) – A woman and her dog were both found dead in a neighborhood lake early Monday morning in Weston, but foul play is not suspected in her death.

According to BSO homicide detectives, the husband of 62-year-old Ilba Dickey, called BSO to report his wife was missing shortly before 3:00 a.m. in the 500 block of Racquet Club Road.

Her husband told deputies he saw his dog floating in the lake along with a pair of his wife's sandals. The BSO dive team responded. They located her body and removed it from the lake. Investigators did not see any signs of trauma.

Homicide and crime scene detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the woman's death. The Broward County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
