Questions Surround Clinic Where Woman Died After Cosmetic Surgery

HIALEAH (CBSMiami) -- Hialeah Police have launched a death investigation after a woman died following plastic surgery.

Heather Meadows, 30, is a mother of two and from West Virginia, officials said.

She was undergoing cosmetic surgery when, police said, she suffered from "medical complications" and passed away at Palm Springs General Hospital.

It happened at Encore Plastic Surgery located at 1738 W. 49th Street and, as CBS4's Hank Tester observed, patients were coming and going all day long.

Employees at the clinic refused to speak on camera.

Police said the clinic is fully licensed. Staffers said patients come from all over to be treated.

Authorities have not said what caused her death.
