Woman Charged With Attempted Murder After Stealing Cop Car, Crashing

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A Miami woman is facing several charges after she allegedly stole an officer's patrol car and crashed into another officer's vehicle.
Miami Police were first dispatched to the scene at 841 N.W. 28th Avenue Friday morning after reports that Catalina Solis-Trejos, 24, was running in and out of traffic.
When officers arrived, Solis-Trejos ran down the street, climbed onto the roof of a home and threatened to jump, according to the arrest report. As an officer approached, she jumped off the roof and into the officer's police vehicle and drove off.
At this time, a police backup unit was heading down the street when Solis-Trejos slammed into it head-on, causing major damage.
She got out and tried to run but was captured a short time later.
One officer was hurt and was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, along with Solis-Trejos.
The officer was treated and released.
Solis-Trejos was charged with two counts of attempted murder and resisting arrest, grand theft of a law enforcement vehicle, as well as trespassing.
