Woman Charged For Broward Baby's Armed Kidnapping

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- A woman has been placed under arrest following the abduction of an infant in Broward County.

Stephanie Augustin, 23, faces several charges including kidnapping, child abuse and assault with a deadly weapon without an intent to kill.

The infant, two-month-old Taraji Kemp, was taken from a home at 2770 N.W. 14th Court, according to police. They said armed intruders entered the home and grabbed the girl while her mother was sleeping.

The child ended up safe at an Orlando hospital late Saturday afternoon.

Augustin was located in Ft. Pierce.

She is behind held behind bars without bail.
