MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – A South Florida woman accused of leaving a Miami Beach tourist in the street to die was ordered held without bond Thursday.

33-year-old Latravia Reed crossed her arms and shook her head 'no' as a judge read the serious charges she's facing.

Those charges include first degree murder, leaving the scene of a crash and robbery.

Miami Beach Police say Reed murdered 38-year-old Steven Beech, a visitor from San Diego over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

The crime unfolded in front of the Riviera Hotel where Beech was left bleeding in the street with a fatal head injury.

According to a police report, after the two met at a bar they drove in Reed's car to an ATM where $300 dollars of Beech's money was withdrawn.

Reed told police they attempted to purchase narcotics.

Unsuccessful in the drug buy, they went to the hotel and after Beech got out of the car, Reed tried to pull away with Beech's things.

Reed told police "she had his money and credit cards and decided to leave."

But Beech tried to get his property "and had both hands on the hood of the vehicle" when police say Reed sped off.

Reed has a history of arrests, back to 2007 for prostitution, fraud, burglary and grand theft.

Police found her at a Doral home on 78th Lane but the owner told CBS4 that Reed did not live there.
