MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Several witnesses took the stand on the second day of the first degree murder trial of a wife's alleged revenge killing.

State prosecutors had several witnesses testify against Janepsy Carballo who is accused of killing her husband's suspected killer, Ilam Nissim, in May 2008.

Nissim was shot six times in the back after prosecutors say Carballo lured him to her North Miami home.

Prosecutors said Nissim had nothing to do with her husband's murder.

Carballo's husband Orlando Mesa was shot and killed in April 2008.

Mesa's cousin Dellany Mesa testified Thursday that Nissim had been close to the family when Orlando died and didn't consider him a threat.

Other state witnesses also offered similar testimony.

The trial is expected to last two weeks. She faces life in prison, if a jury finds her guilty.
