NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) – A bus driver died after getting trapped under a bus, officials said Friday.

From Chopper 4, a yellow tarp could be seen in front of two buses.

The scene unfolded at NW 32 Avenue and NW 79 Street around 5 p.m.

According to a spokesperson with the Miami-Dade Police Department, a female bus driver got out of the bus and walked in front of it when it began to roll.

The spokesperson said the driver tried to stop the bus by running alongside of the bus on the driver's side and tried to stop the bus through the driver's side window.

As she ran alongside the bus, she somehow got stuck under the front tire, the official said.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second bus at the scene was not involved.
