Wife: Officer Joined KKK Undercover

FRUITLAND PARK (CBSMiami/AP) —  The ex-wife of a Florida police officer says she and her ex-husband  joined the Ku Klux Klan to investigate whether another officer was part of the group.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement made public Tuesday parts of a report that led Fruitland Deputy Chief David Borst to resign and Officer George Hunnewell to be fired last week.

In the report, Ann Hunnewell says she and her ex-husband joined the KKK in 2008 at the request of the police chief to find out if another officer was a member. That officer later resigned.

Ann Hunnewell was a secretary for the department at the time.
