Wife Of Late Jim Mandich Passes Away

ROYAL PALM BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Bonnie Mandich, the wife of former Miami Dolphins great Jim Mandich has passed away.

She died Monday, July 11th, and will be laid to rest next her husband, who lost his battle to cancer in 2011.

Bonnie was born in New Jersey and is survived by three children, Michael, Mark and Nick. In her youth, she was named Miss Vermont and was an accomplished equestrian, according to her obituary.

Jim was a star tight end for the Dolphins in the 70's and later became a beloved South Florida radio personality, known for his passionate commentating and love for the team.

The Mandich family has also been the face of the Dolphins Cancer Challenge. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the DCC in her honor.
