Weston water main break that forced school closures on Thursday has been repaired

MIAMI - A water main break in Weston that forced two schools to cancel classes on Thursday has been repaired.

The water main break was inside the Cypress Bay High School campus, a directional bore contractor hit a 12" fire line. The water supply to the high school and Falcon Cove Middle School were affected so classes were canceled.

The City of Weston Public Works Department repaired the damage around 4 a.m. Thursday and classes will resume on Friday.

A boil water order is in effect only for the school properties of Cypress Bay and Falcon Cove. No other locations in Weston are impacted. All water to residences and businesses is fine to drink.
