MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The cool weather over holiday weekend was nice while it lasted.

As we head into the new work week it's safe to say that the cold air is all gone and a steady easterly wind off of the Atlantic will keep it very mild through the next several days at least.

The risk of rip currents is extremely high and there might even be some minor beach erosion as these relentless easterly winds continue through much of the week.

Overnight low temperatures will average around 70 degrees with daytime highs near or just over 80 through much of the week.

Little if any rain is expected although there is a slight chance of scattered showers on Tuesday and Wednesday.
