Warm December Sets South Florida Record

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Last month was the warmest recorded December in South Florida history, according to the National Weather Service, and 2015 was the warmest year on record for the region, as well.
Average temperatures for the year reached 79.2 degrees in Miami, 78.8 degrees in Ft. Lauderdale, 78.0 in West Palm Beach and 77.7 in Naples -- all record high's.

As for last month, Miami hadn't seen a December this warm since 1931. In Naples, December seemed especially warm, averaging 4-5 degrees warmer than the top 10 warmest Decembers previously recorded.
