Viewings Held For Teen Soccer Players Who Died In North Miami Crash

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Family and friends came together to give a final farewell to three teens killed while on their way to a soccer tournament.

On Friday, three individual viewings were held for Richecarde Dumay, Gedeon Desir, and Lens Desir.

The pews at all three were filled with several family and friends who loved Gideon, Richecarde and Lens.

"They were good kids, they were hard-working kids, all of them, they were doing the right thing, on the right path," said Board Vice President of Little Haiti FC Mallory Kauderer.

Lens Desir's parents fought through the pain and tears.

"It'll be the last day tomorrow and I'm not going to see my boy again," said Penel Jean Desir, Lens' father. "I can't believe I lost my boy like that, he didn't even say goodbye, he didn't say goodbye."

At Gideon Desir's viewing, a young boy held up a cross for Gideon's procession.

For Richecarde, the eldest of the three, his family praised him in a church, trying hard to stay strong.

"Richecarde would've wanted us to be strong, but it's that we will never be able to be comfortable with death," said Guerda Louis-Gene, a friend of Richecarde's family. "We know he's in a better place right now."

On Saturday, a combined public viewing and celebration of life service will be held at the 93rd Street Community Baptist Church beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Family, friends and those who have heard stories about the boys are welcome to attend the joint funeral.

The teens were killed last month by a driver in North Miami as they walked to catch a bus to the tournament.

Miriam Coulibaly is facing DUI manslaughter charges in connection with the deadly crash.
