ORLANDO (CBSMiami) -- A line of stretchers, and emergency equipment show Orange County Sheriff's deputies were ready to help as many victims as possible in a mass shooting at an Orlando nightclub last month.

Video shows them running over to Pulse nightclub on June 12th – then something happens.

"Back up, back up, back up! Back up behind, someone could be heard saying over the radio.

Officers began running backwards with stretchers away from buildings. It was not safe. Video shows them retreating and devising a new plan to save the victims in what is considered the deadliest mass shooting in the United States.

"Everybody slow down. One person push the stretcher, two people. Two people to grab people to put on the stretcher," someone is heard saying over the radio.

So they try again.

A second video shows officers in the thick of it, one already bloodied. He is seen running to his car to change his gloves – then he ran back inside.

"Just confirming, we have people barricaded, and an officer banging on the door upstairs," someone is heard saying over the radio.

His camera faces the floor, completely covered in blood. Officers are heard yelling for victims to hurry out.

"Go! Let's go, let's go," said the officers.

That's when they pull one victim and check him to make sure he is not a suspect. Then another victim was pulled out.

"I'm the DJ for the main room, holy [expletive]," the victim is heard saying.

Hand in hand, another victim is seen shaken up and more concerned for his friends

"Please help! My friends are upstairs and they are very injured," the victim is heard saying.

Minutes later they search through the building. Part of the video is blacked out for victim protection but then an unnerving message is heard over police radio.

"They're showing through a text message, that she sent to someone. And they told us that they're afraid to text because they say the shooter is in there," someone is heard saying over the radio.

The gunman - Omar Mateen - would eventually be killed in a gunfight with authorities but not before 49 people lost their lives in the massacre.
