MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It's the start of a new week and with it comes another strong cold front and big cool down.

Monday began with the cold front pushing through South Florida putting a halt to the normal daily warm up as temperatures hovered in the low to mid 70s.

Overnight, winds will pick up from the northwest ushering in much cooler temps in the 40s and 50s by sunrise Tuesday.

Under bright sunshine and dry northwest breezes, highs will not climb above the mid 60s Tuesday with even cooler temps well into the 40s expected Tuesday night before a slow warm up begins on Wednesday.

That means it's time for South Floridians to break out their winter clothes again and trade those sandals for sweatshirts.
